Reunión de Padres y Apoderados

La profesora María Gabriela empieza la reunión a las 19:20 ya que los apoderados llegan tarde a la reunión.
Unos de los primeros temas en tratarse fue la participación de los presentes en el Centro de Apoderados de la escuela, en este punto nos detuvimos ya que no todos los padres querían participar pero la profesora María Gabriela les señala que son sus hijos los que este año salen del colegio y por lo tanto deben organizarse de manera rápida ya que sin directiva, ni los alumnos menos los apoderados, pueden organizar actividades alguna que beneficie al curso y a los demás cursos debido a que no tendrían validez para la escuela.
La profesora María Gabriela se destaca por ser súper enérgica y clara al plantear los temas tanto con los apoderados, como con los alumnos, es por eso que los apoderados se organizan con un poco de dudas pero de manera rápida ya que ellos mismos se ofrecen para postular a los roles requeridos (presidente, tesorero, secretario).
Como segundo tema se discutió el tema de la Carpeta de deberes (esta carpeta se creo con el fin de que los alumnos lleven al colegio todos los materiales, se comprende que antes de esta carpeta los alumnos no Traian muy seguido sus materiales) se explica a los apoderados que sus hijos simplemente no llegan con las cosas con las cuales trabajan en el colegio, algunos padres se muestran sorprendidos ya que ellos explican que les compraron los materiales pedidos por los profesores y que simplemente no entienden como sus hijos no lo trajeron a la clase otros apoderados un muestran ni siquiera un atisbo de novedad.
Me sorprende ver que hay apoderados que simplemente ni siquiera saben para qué asignatura era los materiales pedidos o que simplemente compraron algo, pero no les preguntaron a sus hijos cual era el fin de la compra.
Se forma unos mini rumores sobre el tema y una mamá solicita a la profesora jefe que si es posible que los nombre para poder “atrincarlos” en la casa. La profesora no se niega a la petición, y les pide un permiso generalizado a la audiencia, estos asienten, aquí se muestran aun mas sorprendidos los que ya estaban y sorprendidos los que no lo hicieron anteriormente ya que se dan cuenta que en dos semanas sus hijos no han traído los cuadernos de las asignaturas durante 2 o 3 días.
Velocidad lectora, las profesora jefe es profesora de lenguaje de su curso y les comunica los apoderados que sus hijos están un tanto bajos en la velocidad lectora y que aparte se han dado cuenta que los apoderados no cumplen con el 50% de la tarea ya que su deber es tomarles controles de lecturas en sus casas y llenar la pauta que se les designo para el mes.
Los padres se comprometen a que ellos estarán mas al pendiente de su tarea dado que si cumplen serán citados por la jefa de utp la profesora Roxana Sobrado, también les da de ejemplo un texto en el cual le muestra el tamaño de la lectura que los niños deben leer a diario en sus casas.
Notas, profesora hace entrega de las notas del curso en la agenda del colegio dado que se ha conversado en consejo de profesores que es una buena idea que los alumnos mantengan las notas por este medio para que los apoderados estén al tanto de las notas mensualmente, ya que anteriormente se les entregaba en una en una hoja y usualmente los padres extraviaban este papel.
También se señala que hay alumnos en riesgo de repitencia, la profesora señala que todavía es tiempo para que suban sus promedios dado que el curso completo tiene que postular a otros colegios para poder seguir con sus enseñanza media.
Aniversario de la escuela, la profesora informa sobre este evento dando a conocer las actividades propuestas para esos días las actividades son una misa, y un acto en el cual los alumnos deberán representar a grandes mujeres latino americanas que han dejado huella en la historia, al curso les toco, Rigoberta Menchu, les comunica que habrá un stand por curso en cual deberán mostrar la vida y obra de esta mujer, aparte de mostrar los trabajos que los alumnos hagan sobre Rigoberta.
La directiva dio cuentas del dinero reunido hasta el momento y proponen ideas para poder juntar mas dinero para la licenciatura del curso, siendo las 21:20 se termina la reunión.

The learners
The 6th level is great. They are always motivated with the subject. Moreover, the English teacher stimulates them more since he is available for every question and students are not afraid or feel shame when they have to perform something or to be critical. In this class children ask all the time if they have to do something, so here the teacher just sets the rules and they work in groups or by themselves and they ask for help if they do not understand the instructions.
Behavior during classroom
The guide teacher asks questions about kids’ background that is related to the unit and all of them are willing to participate in class; they want to express their ideas and also they scream if you do not hear them. That is really great since as a teacher, you feel very good because your students interact all the time with you.
Discuss the learning styles and levels of English in the classroom.
Despite the fact teacher uses the classical way for teaching, it is different in some way, since, as I said before, children like to take part of the class; levels of engagement are very high and for that reason, English levels are very good too, the guide teacher uses English from he gets into the classroom to he leaves it. Spanish is just used when children need it like instructions, or something they do not understand pretty well.

The school also cares about the appreciation of our own culture; many activities are thought for kids to develop values and respect for Chilean customs.
The Classroom
The classroom is not big but it has just the size children need. The classroom has a whiteboard, four sight lines where not only the teacher, but also the students can walk easily around the room.The school also has a special room where you can find computers. Another important point which is related to this room is that each grade must use it a complete week, it means, each teacher needs a special lesson plan in order to use the technology that you can find there. Moreover, the school has radios, data shows and notebooks teachers can use every time they need.
The Activities and Resources
a) In every class, the English teacher uses a data show because he thinks students like technology and that is true, most of the time students ask to the teacher if he needs help with these elements, but in my opinion, the guide teacher wastes few time when he has to set this element in the classroom, meanwhile, kids are running around the classroom, laughing and screaming. So, I would like to give him a piece of advice in order to improve the pre stage.
b) The school has few technology resources, but they are well used thou, since teachers can use them whenever they want. Unfortunately, each classroom does not have these tools, so teachers must carry them from Teachers Room.

In my personal point of view children like the English teacher gives them everything because they do not like writing, speaking or even to hearing him. For that reason in this subject the teacher speaks in Spanish since children do not understand much English.
Behavior during classroom activities
Most of the time teacher ask them questions about something that is related to the unit of study, few of them answer but they do it in Spanish, so the English teacher translates the sentence in order to he or she repeats it in English. Another way to encourage the class participation is by working on some activity for winning some extra points for the test.And the last one I think is the best. The teacher created a blog where students can find extra material, worksheets and also contests where the big prizes are points that they can use it at any test.

2.- at the first time they did not want to ask me because they felt ashamed but step by step they started to did it and asked me other things like where I was study, why I was chose this course of the study.
3.- their reaction were fine because the teacher introduce me like another english teacher.The atmosphere was difficult because 8°básico,spoke all the time and in that class had a small annoying group which was hard to control it but not impossible.
4.-another activity had to read a listening in three different time, front of the class because the radio broke down in that moment.
5. I prepared a power point about celebration. It was ok because they liked technology.

1.- I get the information through three different ways; first able from the UTP, that she gave me the planilla of lesson planning, from the mineduc,I had to down load planes and programas for 8° básico and from the English 8 book (the educational ministry gave this book to the school).
2.- the guide teacher explains me about the lesson planning that the school has and also ask me to show him my lesson planning in order to review it.
3.- it takes me 2 days, full of work just for this class.

In my first class the teacher ask me for help , I had to answered questions about vocabulary related to the unit(my family and I) , because they wanted to finished fast on order to got extra points. I was doing that activity for the entire class.
2.- they just saw me for a while and then they started to asked their doubts about vocabulary.
3.- their reaction were fine, they asked me if I were another enhlish teacher and the teacher said yes, then a group of girls guide me to the classroom .The atmosphere was great because they just wanted to participate in the class all the time.they were talkative and respectful with the teacher not only in the classroom but also in everywhere.
4.-I had to write the class objective on the board the title of the unit too and I helped to children with the words that they did not know and I always performed those activity class.
5.-in 6° básico I had to did a power point about family tree. The teacher used it and children liked it.

Reflective writing Nº1: The English classroom
I.The english classroom
This is a mess, because children are everywhere; you can see a girl listening to music, some of them are playing football, with a dog, others are fighting etc.
This is a clear image about a teacher loosing the class control. In that class there is not respect to the teacher nor students. From my point of view, teacher lost herself because she is not paying attention her students’ needs to work in class; anther point, she has to talk to her students in order to know their interests and know their doubts about the subject, etc.
II. Reflective writing
In my observation stage I could see “Octavo basico” was a difficult group to deal with.
Some of them work pretty good in silence, if they have doubts, they ask me without problems. Also I try to plan interesting activities in order to keep their attention, however, i have desruptive students so, little by little, I been trying to talk to them during the breaks because I think it’s the best way to know them, but they continue playing in the classroom and telling jokes in front of the teacher. They always have problems with teachers; but one of them is very conflictive, his name is Omar and he does not respec the teachers; he answers in a rude way and he constantly interrups the class. Moreover, I have to plan special activities for him, but he refuses to work.When you ask him why does he have that behavior, he replies he has sicologycal and learning problems and you have to add his hyperactivity. Teacher knows about his promblems and I know that school´s authorities know too, for that reason, they talked to his mother and the resolution was to keep him out from the school for three days, but I am no sure that was a good idea since he was showing a little progress in class, now he does not understand a thing in my class.
Another student just has hyperactivity promblems, his name is Francisco but, my guide teacher told me I have to keep him working in class using worksheets in groups with specific students. For that reason, my guide teacher and I created an activitiy in which he has to think a lot of of things. The activity´s name is “Miths and Legends” in this activity student have to write a dialogue that is related to an specific mith or legend of Chile, francisco is working pretty well he creates a song for his sketch also privide with wonderful ideas to de group.
I know is difficult to face desruptive students but a good idea from my experience is to see their behaviors, to listen when they want to express their ideas and to plan activities for different kind of people because we are teachers, that is the way that we choose and that is the way that we see to the future.

Post- observation feedback - REFLECTION
I would like to express my gratitude to my guide teacher Jose Luis Tapia for giving me all his support and for his good pieces of advice not only at the beginning but also in any time.
In my first times I felt nervious because students were niosy and also moved to a different places in the classroom and I thought that I could not do it for different reasons: because I am young , they know that I’m not their teacher and they know I am in my practicum.
When I started doing my class i realized they were good students; they paid attention to my classes, asked questions if they had doubts about exercises,etc but, as I said before, they talked a lot and it was difficult for me to control that situation and I tried to speak but they talked lauder so, in that moment, I made a mistake: I screamed. That was my first pieces of advice, my guide teacher told me that I could not “speak”or scream in that way and I had to wait in silence in front of them just looking them but, I was not aware of it until a student told me that I was screaming, that was a shameful situation and I did not do it any more.
Another point was the way I prepared worksheets for my students. Most of the time, they did not finish tasks in class because I expected more from them, so Miss Isabel asked me what would I change in my worksheet? And I told her I should insert images and also gave them time for each exercise. In that moment, I understood that my worksheet was too bored for them; may be the worksheet was not interesting for them so I had to create different things for them with interesting readings so, Miss Isabel advised me to ask my students what kind of things were interesting for them.
I took all the advices given and I put in practice; I asked to my students what things were interesting for them? And they told me that the activities were ok but, the way that I presented my activities was the problem so, I improved my lesson plans at the same time I tried to imagine my students’ reaction with the new activity or worksheet.
So last Monday Miss Isabel came back to visit me and I felt confortable and happy too, because my students worked pretty well on the activities that I prepared, in advance I felt proud about my self and also my work as a teacher .
Iknow that I have to improve in technologic aspectsbut I would like to learn more about it. Im not the best but I am Sure that I doing a big effort to do my classes and I am ready to face every chanllenge in my carrer.
In my first times I felt nervious because students were niosy and also moved to a different places in the classroom and I thought that I could not do it for different reasons: because I am young , they know that I’m not their teacher and they know I am in my practicum.
When I started doing my class i realized they were good students; they paid attention to my classes, asked questions if they had doubts about exercises,etc but, as I said before, they talked a lot and it was difficult for me to control that situation and I tried to speak but they talked lauder so, in that moment, I made a mistake: I screamed. That was my first pieces of advice, my guide teacher told me that I could not “speak”or scream in that way and I had to wait in silence in front of them just looking them but, I was not aware of it until a student told me that I was screaming, that was a shameful situation and I did not do it any more.
Another point was the way I prepared worksheets for my students. Most of the time, they did not finish tasks in class because I expected more from them, so Miss Isabel asked me what would I change in my worksheet? And I told her I should insert images and also gave them time for each exercise. In that moment, I understood that my worksheet was too bored for them; may be the worksheet was not interesting for them so I had to create different things for them with interesting readings so, Miss Isabel advised me to ask my students what kind of things were interesting for them.
I took all the advices given and I put in practice; I asked to my students what things were interesting for them? And they told me that the activities were ok but, the way that I presented my activities was the problem so, I improved my lesson plans at the same time I tried to imagine my students’ reaction with the new activity or worksheet.

Informe de Consejo de Curso y Orientación
Datos Generales:

Desarrollo del consejo de curso.
1.- Tema de Orientación: mal comportamiento en el aula en algunas clases.
2.- OFT cubierto: no fue puesto en la pizarra ni expresado al curso como tal pero deduje que era respeto por los compañeros y las personas que los rodean a diario.
3.- Tabla de curso: a comportamiento de los alumnos dentro de la clase.
La tesorera de curso da la cuenta del dinero recaudado hasta ese momento.
Día del alumno.
Este curso por lo general es un m uy bueno pero, hay instancias en las que se desordenan muchos sin importar la presencia del profesor en el aula llegando a límites un tanto altos, con esto quiero precisar que los desordenes no son siempre.
Quisiera ejemplificar que en mi hora de clase como profesora en practica me toco presenciar el golpe que una alumna le dio a otro alumno del curso porque, según la alumna, el compañero afectado la estaba molestando hacía mucho rato y ella no lo tolero.
Este tipo de agresiones no están permitidas en el curso ni en el establecimiento educacional por esta misma situación el problema fue comunicado al profesor jefe.
El consejo de curso empezó, con el objetivo de la clase que era el respeto por cualquier persona sin importar quien sea, los alumnos en su mayoría opinaron sobre el hecho ocurrido en la clase de ingles, la alumna conflictiva presento sus argumentos y el alumno afectado también, la profesora trato de hacerles ver que eso no era posible en ningún lugar y que lo principal era el respeto y la tolerancia hacia sus pares dentro y fuera del aula. Como tarea los alumnos deberán disertar sobre la tolerancia y el respeto esta semana en este mismo ramo, también se me comunico que debería incluir en mis objetivos de la clase el respeto y la valoración de sus pares y de los que los rodean en general.
La tesorera lee las personas que les a adeudan dinero y tratan de ponerse de acuerdo sobre la convivencia de final del semestre 2010, algunos opinan sobre como debieran ser y se resume en que seria buena idea ir ha happy land.
El día del alumno. Los alumnos se colocan de acuerdo con su participación ya que deben presentar un baile, tener unos 6 participantes para los juegos propuestos por el consejo de profesores y decidir el color que los identificaran.

5.- Fecha: 4 de mayo del 2010.
6.- hora (inicio y término): 9:15 a 10 de la mañana.
Desarrollo del consejo de curso.
1.- Tema de Orientación: responsabilidad y comportamiento dentro del aula.
2.- OFT cubierto: el respeto de si mismo y sus responsabilidades
3.- Tabla de curso: responsabilidad y su mal comportamiento.
Día del alumno.
Este curso es un curso tranquilo pero presenta 5 alumnos de los cuales puedo decir que presenta una gran variedad de comportamiento, aquí tenemos alumnos muy desordenados que llegan a ser groseros, medianamente desordenados y los que se dejan llevar por los demás esta información la manejo bien una porque estoy mas tiempo con estos alumnos y otra por que los profesores comenta esto mismo en la sala de profesores.
La profesora comienza el consejo leyendo algunas quejas que los profesores le escribieron en un papel para que los alumnos se dieran cuenta que son reales, además ellos mismos presentan sus molestias contra los 5 alumnos problemáticos y las profesoras les preguntan de que manera debieran ellos como curso ayudar a sus compañeros unos de ellos propone que los mismos alumnos traten de corregir a sus pares en el mal comportamiento dentro del aula. Se determina en consecuencia que si los alumnos no son capaces de ayudar a sus compañeros será el curso completo el que deberá enfrentar un castigo colectivo como barrer el patio y dejar la sala impecable al final del día escolar por un mes ya que los problemas han sido sostenidos durante el presente año escolar.
Otro punto que se trato fue que los alumnos no traen lo s materiales a las clases lo cual incomoda mucho a los profesores, ya que muchas veces los materiales son pedidos con una semana de anticipación. En mi caso los alumnos no traen los diccionarios a la clase siendo que cada clase los pido y solo algunos alumnos los traen, cuándo esto ocurre el profesor autoriza a un alumno que vaya a buscar los diccionarios que el colegio tiene.
La profesora les señala que la responsabilidad es uno de los valores mas importantes que necesitan tener los seres humanos ya que esto refleja su preocupación por sus trabajos y los que haceres diarios. La profesora decide que los alumnos que no traen sus materiales serán anotados en el libro y que a la segunda anotación negativa le será notificado a sus padres vía comunicación.
Día del alumno. Al igual que el otro curso los alumnos deben colocarse de acuerdo el baile que presentaran, los alumnos que participaran en los concursos y del color que deberán usar para ser identificados en cada juego.

Hora: Cada una desde las 19:00 hasta las 21:15 horas.
Quisiera señalar que a María José Ibaceta y a mi se nos solicito a ir a un consejo mensual en cual también podemos interactuar con los profesores.
También me pronunciare con los temas más importantes para mí de estos dos consejos.
Cada consejo de profesores es encabezado por la profesora Roxana Sobrado y también contamos con la presencia de la directora del establecimiento en cada reunión la señora Lotero Sobrado. Me gustaría señalar que en todo momento me he sentido muy acogida por el colegio y todo el cuerpo docente además los profesores presentan buenas maneras al relacionarse entre ellos veo constantes apoyos al momento de presentar una duda en el aula o ante sus propias planificaciones, mas aun en plano personal ellos manifiestan maneras muy cordiales de tratarse entre ellos facilitando mi estadía entre el cuerpo docente de este establecimiento educacional.
Dia del alumno.En esa oportunidad nos dividimos en jornada de la mañana y de la tarde. Nosotras que damos en la jornada de la mañana, en esta oportunidad discutimos sobre el día del alumno, los profesores discuten sobre cuales serán las actividades de ese día, tales como: adivine y cante, baile de los profesores, desayuno saludable, ida con ropa de calle de los alumnos, etc.
Estrategias de Mejoramiento de la Velocidad Lectora. Este tema es tratado por la profesora de lenguaje María Gabriela Olivares. En este oportunidad la profesora presenta el proyecto y su nos muestra la planilla mas la información que se les dará a los padres sobres la lectura rápida y como deben llenar la planilla adjunta además, los profesores deberán de los distintos subsectores deberán tomarles prueba de lectura rápida y a su vez medir el tiempo y dejarlo registrado en una planilla que estará en el libro de clase.
Calendarización de pruebas. Las pruebas serán comunicadas a través de comunicaciones que se les envíe a los informando les sobre los temas que deben estudiar los alumnos para las pruebas.
Alumnos a UTP. Los alumnos que presenten mal comportamiento de manera reiterativa y que se hayan agotado todas las estrategias para poder solucionar el conflicto en cuestión serán enviados a UTP como ultima medida, también deberán llevar un listado de tareas que tienen que ser evaluadas posteriormente.
Resolución de conflictos. Los profesores tendrán que registrar en el libro de clases las observaciones del conflicto además serán tratados los problemas en el instante. También se investigara la situación y para tomar las medidas necesarias.
Tabla Reunión de la segunda reunión.- Fortalezas y Debilidades por Subsector.- Organización de eventos de la escuela: Aniversario de la Escuela, Fiestas Patrias, Encuentro de Teatro.
Fortaleza y debilidades por subsector. Los profesores de los distintos subsectores preparan un power point y exponen sus fortalezas y sus debilidades, haciendo un excautivo análisis a sus clases y a los distintos método que han implementado y que les ha ayudado para poder tener clases mas interactivas. También analizan a los alumnos que presentan problemas en las distintas asignaturas mientras la jefa de UTP pregunta cuando presenta dudas las cuales son respondidas por el profesor correspondiente.
Luego de tener una imagen global de lo que pasa en cada asignatura, se presentan distintas conclusiones algunas de ellas son:
_ dar énfasis a la carpeta de deberes ya que en ella se registra a los alumnos que traen al colegio todos sus materiales para la clase.
_ registrar las notas en la agenda porque de esta manera los apoderados se darán cuenta de las notas que sus hijos presentan en cada asignatura.
_ Enviar un informe de comportamiento al apoderado para que se comprometer lo en la educación de sus hijos.
Aniversario del colegio: un grupo de profesores se encargaran de proponer la temática de esta celebración, algunos de los temas que podrían ser:
Mitos y Leyendas, Pueblos Originarios.
Fiestas Patrias: se Define la temática de esta celebración tales como bailes, trajes y comidas típicas.
- Encuentro de teatro: se ve organización de las comitivas para diseñar afiches publicitarios, animadores, personas que van a financiar este evento, lugar en donde se hará esta actividad, valor de la inscripción, premios, etc.
